Mushroom hunters often harvest morels and chanterelles near Washington's
Alta Crystal Resort, from late summer until the first frost. The National Forest requires permits, but fungi foragers can collect two quarts daily in the National Park without licenses. As always, use extreme caution with mushroom identification, as some can be poisonous.
