ADVANCE TO GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200
CHOBE, Botswana - The lioness stalks perpendicular to the road, now blending into the brush, now striding across the dusty grass. Her three cubs bunch and bumble behind, hesitant to cross the clearings.
The jeeps don't help. A half dozen leapfrog ahead of the big cats. Finally, at an intersection, they flank both sides of the lions' path.
We are being so ugly, so intrusive. The animals pass within a few feet of the trucks, then disappear.
Game over, greedy tourists.
