WATCHING THE WORLD WAKE UP FROM HISTORY
TURTLE WALL, Palau – Stephanie and I, friends bonded in a desert kiln, sink and sink into the Pacific.

Our hands gesture, spider-looms under the sea.

Sinuses? Air? Check out that shark, sister!

The camera – clumsy in its underwater housing – slams my shoulder. Oh yeah. I shoot Steph. I snap the sharks: white-tips, black-tips ... and – whoa, Nellie – grey reefers.

My Canon – aka "the crapshoot" since the display drowned in Glacier Bay, Alaska, last summer – and its sad-@ss flash blunder at flora, fauna and friends alike. The images suck, utterly. Underwater photography requires BANK. More $$$ than I could ever muster.

But as Britband Jesus Jones sang:

I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
There is no other place I want to be

  1. OMG, JESUS JONES!!! Although I like your underwater pics, I'm sorry, JJ steals the show.

Can't wait for you to work in a-ha in a future post.

  2. I don't normally take requests, but we'll see about the a-ha, DB.

(A fiver in the tip jar works wonders...)

Ax, talking away, doesn't know what to say

Bravo, Amanda! Now how about a little EMF?

Since it wouldn't be cost effective to wire you that five dollars, how about if I just click on a few Google Adsense links?

  4. Only if you solemnly promise to consider the fine products, DB. We'll endorse no click-fraud here!

A beer, next time you transit through Seattle, also works nicely and avoids (most) legal issues.
