OPENING ONE PRESENT ON CHRISTMAS EVE: A TRADITION

SEATTLE, Washington – Two years ago, I open-water certified in Honduras. My cousin Ryan, a Navy diver, had just passed away and, well, someone had to keep horsing around underwater, aggravating our elders...

Every descent, I think about him. And now I wish I could ring his freaky walkie-talkie phone and yelp: "My first Sport Diver story came out. Right next to my friend Ted's. How's that for a Christmas pressie?"

He'd probably talk smack. No, he definitively would. "Sport Diver, sure, OK for you amateur tourist types..."

But he'd have shared the thrill. I'm certain.

  2. Thanks, doll. I'm quite sure none of this would be happening without the cheerleading, bullying and good examples set by you, Val, Jackie et al. You ladies rock!

Oh I love it Amanda! He probably would have said some ryan-esque thing to make it seem like a pansy attempt but he would have been so proud inside! I'm going to have to start looking at your blog more often, one of my friends, Jennie, says she reads your stuff all the time and she loves it. She says you have her dream job, hehe. Now that your on FB you'll be much easier to keep tabs on. :)
