EVERYTHING TASTES BETTER WITH TRUFFLE OIL

My author friend Candace Dempsey brought me back tartufo bianco – white truffle – oil from Italy, while she was covering the finale of a notorious murder trial.

The Italian court acquitted Amanda Knox.

My pal was vindicated for her thoughtful, deeply principled  reporting. Her book, Murder In Italy, cranked into its second print run.

And I got truffle-oiled golden beets.

Can't argue with that!
